Inviting six to seven artists from Japan, China, and Korea, this exhibition aims to reveal what is "contemporary" through visual art, music, and various creators' work, in addition to talks by artists and symposiums by curators and art writers.

Nowadays, it is clear that China and Korea are both putting emphasis on the contemporary art scene and producing many promising young artists. With that aspect in mind, the curator of this exhibition Reina Masuyama has chosen artists who are not working based on commercial interests or preexisting values, but those who are seriously defining themselves in wider society.

In our globalized society, this exhibition attempts to provide opportunities to discuss what "Asia" means, where we are, and where we are heading to.

Finding Connections in Disconnected Asia - "Art LAN@Asia" Exhibition

Any exhibition that brings together the work of Chinese, Korean and Japanese artists could potentially lapse into lazy and chaotic differentiations or simplistic unisons.
