Tokyo Wonder Site (TWS) has been focusing on supporting emerging artists since 200 through “Tokyo Wonder Wall” (TWW), a public art competition and emerging artists support program. TWS-Emerging is one of the programs to realize a solo exhibition for TWW award recipients to further develop their presentational skills. 23 TWW award recipients were chosen from 100 artists last year, and TWS will introduce their works from June till March, 2008.

This is the seventh such exhibition held this year and three artists' works will be on display. Hirabayashi's paintings are an attempt to lead us to the world of Pure Land Buddhist from that of pop culture that constantly surrounds us. Komatsu draws a child stacking building blocks, symbolizing the existence of a much more forceful flow. Meguro's works have a powerful sense of tension as if man is about to step into a realm to which the gods have not allowed entry.
