This exhibition introduces pre-war posters and the surrounding facts and culture. The notion of printed advertisement was imported from Western culture and spread largely during the Meiji period. Printing technology and its various possibilities in the field of advertising has been progressing continually until today. For their creative expression, uniqueness, and vivid colors, posters attract people and collectors as artworks.
