The Sculpture Department of Tokyo National University of Fine Arts & Music has curated various exhibitions at Chinretsukan gallery, through which they raise fruitful questions about contemporary sculpture in educational and social settings.
In the 20th century, the conception of art became separated from religion, forming various genres and styles. In the 21st century, various subjects are contextualized into "narratives," and nowadays there are many sculptural works taking such an approach. This exhibition, entitled "Sculpture of Story," explores this concept of "narrative" in art.
