This competition selects excellent architectural designs from students' works from around the country based on a public review. The first competition was held in 2003, and past judges have included Toyo Ito, Osamu Ishiyama, Terunobu Fujimori and Riken Yamamoto. This year is the 5th competition, for which 477 students submitted works, and over 3000 were shown at the Sendai Mediatheque on the day of public review. The competition continues to grow as Japan's largest scale architectural competition of graduate works. Individuals can compete alongside school representatives in the "Graduate Architectural Works Japan's Championship Competition." This year's top works and data regarding past winning works will be on display at Gallery Ma.
