Media: Film

Over the past 110 years or more, European countries have woven a rich and brilliant history of film-making. EU Film Days draws upon this tradition to demonstrate, in the new context of the European Union, the energy and dynamism to be found in contemporary European films. This year, our opening film is "Lights in the Dusk" by the Finnish director Aki Kaulismäki – a leading figure in the contemporary cinematic art scene, which will be shown ahead of its commercial release in Japan. Many other works of note from various European countries will also be shown.
