"Danese: Editor of Products" Exhibition

Musashino Art University Museum & Library
Finished
Danese was established in Milan in 1957. The company presented a wide range of products designed for living space and offices, educational toys for children, and art editions. One of the reasons that many people have supported Danese's products is that they have hired some of the most talented artists of the time, such as Bruno Munari and Enzo Mari. These artists' designs were discussed rigorously with the art director Bruno Danese in order to enforce the company identity in the final product. Their detailed editorial process reveals their high esteem for "editorial consciousness". The company identity -- Danese as the "editors of production" -- was a significant benchmark in 20th century product design.

This exhibition presents around 300 design works by Danese as well as relevant documents and artifacts, introducing the history of Denese from the beginning until the company's closure in 1991.
