Chen Ruo Bing
Chen Ruo Bing was born in China in 1970. After graduating from Hanzhou Art Academy, he traveled to Germany in 1991 and finished studies at Düsseldorf Art Academy G. Graupner Class in 1988. He currently splits his time between Düsseldorf and Hanzhou.
Ever since his academy days, Chen has worked to fuse the traditions of Chinese painting with contemporary West European culture. He has had solo exhibition at Shanghai Art Museum and Fuhrwerkswaage Kunstraum in Köln in the past year, as well as exhibiting at the Shiseido Gallery in Tokyo. Chen's works and Chinese antiques are on permanent display in the Chen Ruo Bing Art Museum, which recently opened in Jiaxing Province.
For his third exhibition at Taguchi Fine Arts, sketches made with ink and oil sticks will be on display. This exhibition and the work in it differ from his previous ones, in which colorful canvases adorned the gallery.
