"Art from Parma, Italy, Another Capital" Exhibition

National Museum Of Western Art, Tokyo
Finished
This exhibition introduces the art of the 16th and 17th centuries from Parma, located in Northern Italy. This period covers a wide range of art historical eras that flourished in Parma, from the Renaissance, the late 16th century when a unique culture was developed through the patronage of Farneze, and the Baroque style of the 17th century. This show aims to reveal the background and the surrounding history of Parma, a place where stylistic changes in art took place, later influencing the 19th century culture scenes. 100 paintings and drawings are on display.
