Researcher at Musashino Art University and Japanese Studies associate professor of Université Bordeaux 3, Anne Gossot will hold the lecture "1930s Chair Making and Problems of Mass Production" at the Musashino Art University Museum & Library.
This lecture will focus on the work of designer Nobuo Moriya, who contributed to the popularization of chairs among Japanese people in the Taisho era. Gossot will also discuss the development of industrial design and the emergence of modern, western-style furniture in Japan.
