"The Taito Ward Collection: The Source of Japanese Paintings - Reproductions of Wall Paintings at the Dunhuang Mogao Caves" Exhibition

The University Art Museum - Tokyo University of the Arts
Finished
Taito Ward has purchased reproductions of a portion of the graduation works "Golden Pavilion Wall Paintings from Horyuji" and "Wall Paintings from the Dunhuang Mogao Caves" from the graduate school at the Tokyo University of the Arts, with the aim of nurturing and supporting young artists and fostering cultural exchange with these students.
The more than 50 works were produced between 1982 and 2003, and have since become important cultural assets for the City.
Starting from May 2008, the "Golden Pavilion Wall Paintings from Horyuji" and "Wall Paintings from the Dunhuang Mogao Caves" have been on display at the Taito Art Gallery of the Taito Ward Office. This exhibition collection however focuses mainly on reproductions of the "Wall Paintings from the Dunhuang Mogao Caves" that were constructed from several difficult and partial views of exhibition displays from the Taito Art Gallery.
