Arcus Project 2008

ARCUS Studio
Finished

Artists

Paulien Oltheten, Daniel Salomon, Joshua Sofaer
ARCUS has invited 67 artists from 22 countries and regions to join this series over the past 13 years. Works created during the residency required a long period of time to complete, and only became possible at this site in Moriya City.

In 2008, there were 350 applications, the largest number ever, from all over the world. This year's three artists were selected through an initial screening process selection by ARCUS Project, and the final selection was made by three international curators. They all show distinguished talent and much potential in their work.

These selected artists have been working on their projects for about three months. Each work shows a remarkable strength and depth that evolved from the participation and cooperation of the local community and volunteers. Presenting a "global standard" in "community-based" programs, ARCUS invites everyone to the Open Studio.
