This exhibition presents a wide variety of wrapping paper used at sweet shops, bakeries, meat shops, flower shops, sushi shops and many other kinds of stores in Setagaya. Numerous kinds of designs are displayed in this exhibition, transforming the gallery space into a Mandala painting of Setagaya shopping malls.
We encounter various types of wrapping paper designs almost everyday. As a design form, it is very close to us. Viewers will be greeted by a wall covered with various designs as well as items made with wrapping paper, such as book covers and small containers. Perhaps viewers will reconsider wrapping paper and come away from the exhibition with their own ideas for alternative uses.
