Ota Fine Arts is pleased to announce a solo exhibition featuring Takao Minami. The gallery's fall season will kick off with his new works.

Minami had a solo show last year at Ota Fine Arts, and this will be the artist's second show at the gallery. The exhibition will consist of 3 video works, including installations. Each piece makes use of tools such as computers, projectors, surveillance cameras or mirrors as media for showing how elements of reality communicate with virtual spaces and create visual worlds out of them.

The artist recently traveled through Cambodia and Vietnam in Southeast Asia and collected various materials over the course of the trip. These were later edited on a computer and then digitalized into a form readable by projector or micro camera. The works will include not only visual images, but also some machine-like devices with sound accompaniments composed by Minami. All these works come together as to express the artist's personal, internal landscape.

As Minami says, “these works play the music of places.” It is hoped that you take this opportunity to enjoy his rich, colourful symphony of reality, technology, and time.
