Jan Švankmajer
Artist, animation and film creator, as well as film director, Jan Švankmajer was born in Prague Czechoslovakia. After graduating from technical art high school in Prague, he entered Puppet Play Department of Czech National Art Academy Drama School. After getting married with Eva Svankmajerova, he introduced his first film "Poslední trik pana Schwarcewalldea a pana Edgara" in 1964. Since then, he has produced many short films as well as feature films such as "Alice" and "Faust". His recent work is "Lunacy" (2005).

This exhibition at ACT showcases ex-libris original drawings for his latest work which has never been exhibited before. Lithograph works produced from these drawings will be on sale alongside books, posters, post cards and more. There will also be the screenings of his films.
