American designers Charles & Ray Eames wrote important pages in the histories of the 20th century design and architecture. The former greatly contributed himself to industrial design and is especially well-known for the huge collection of his photographs (750,000 photographs are housed in the Library of Congress).
This exhibition has toured the U.S., Australia, India and China (Beijing) to commemorate the centennial of Charles Eames' birth, introducing his 100 photographs and 100 quotes that had never been shown publicly before. For Eames, photography was not only the medium for documentation purpose but also part of his design process. 100 photos selected by Eames Office prove his objective, observant eye.
For this exhibition, Eames Office published the book "100 Quotes by Charles Eames" (limited edition for the exhibition). The book will be offered to the first 2,500 visitors for free. Timeless messages from this great figure will inspire people today significantly.
