In the Curatorial Practice of the Urban Environment Course at Tama Art University, students aim to connect contemporary art to an audience by curating exhibitions in urban settings.

The third exhibition presented by the curatorial department, "Double Chronos," is being held at Zuishoji Temple in Shirokanedai.
Using the space facing the busy Meguro Street as well as quiet spaces along the small street leading to the temple, this exhibition occupies several locations with various atmospheres surrounding this important site, which holds more than 330 years of history. Viewers will experience a connection between the past and the current moment. With the artists mindful of such the unique sites, works with a connection to the location are presented. In the space facing the Meguro Street, Shinji Omaki and Yuichi Higashionna present works that envelope the entire space and catch people's attention with their pop atmosphere. In the empty space near Omaki and Higashionna's works, architecture unit Maki Onishi and Yuki Hyakuda install their new work, which evolved from a dialogue with the site. Also, in the gallery space on the temple ground, tucked away from the busy street, Masakatsu Takagi's video piece and Rui Mizuki's installation involving water echo with each other, composing a tranquil time and space.
