Ryosuke Hara "Flickering Horizon"

Yuka Sasahara Gallery
Finished

Artists

Ryosuke Hara
Ryosuke Hara's paintings capture not a singular moment but multiple places and different time frames all at once. He avoids layering different colors of paint on a canvas in order to diminish hierarchy among the motifs he employs. This approach results in an evened out surface on which the motifs are equally significant and the originally contradictory concepts of time and space come together. Ultimately, he aims to create a situation where a new set of values can evolve.
Taking landscape, people, and the cosmos as his main themes, Hara reveals his unique viewpoint on the concept of time and space.
