This event has ended.

What is this unbroachable distance between our urban life and nature? Ban visualizes a modest sense of this distance on her canvas. The reality is that we can never reach a point where we reach a state of total harmony with nature. Her work captures a sort of fascination in the face of this bitter fact, taking her viewer's imagination to faraway places, evoking gentle pulsations in the minds of audiences thanks to her daydream-like imagery.

While enrolled at the Kanazawa College of Art, Ban won the grand prize at the Showa Shell Contemporary Art Award. She then went on to study at the Academie Royale des Beaux-Arts d'Anvers and the Slade School of Fine Art at London University. This is her first exhibition since "Garden", which was held at Point in 2005.
