"Girlish Blends" Exhibition

Gallery Ni Mode
Finished
This exhibition picks up on 6 young artists with promising futures. The common thread running through their work is a certain girlishness that has been reworked and "blended" together. However, in spite of this commonality the works each have their own individuality and do not blend into each other themselves, demonstrating the diversity of forms of expression in modern society.
A faint sense of transience finds direct expression in the 2D works of Risa Kano, while Kiyami Sato's work has a restrained sense of emotion, but is littered with symbols. Tomomi Yoshizawa takes an approach based on the power of the image, while Mako Watanabe works with motifs from everyday life. There are also sculptures by Akiko Okumura and Sae Takasu, artists who normally create bold installations, but who have this time taken the exhibition space as a kind of exploratory space for their artistic discoveries.
