Kayo Sato
Sato creates her work by weaving together unraveled stuffed animals and other materials. Her synthetic animal-like pieces have a somewhat provocative quality, while their familiar cuteness is still intact.
In this exhibition, Sato brings to the gallery space a forest with animals in it, each one with two sides to it -an exposed face and a hidden face. How will these animals deal with the anxiety and schizophrenia that derives from their two-sidedness? This is the question provoked by Sato's mystical landscape.
