Takayama has consistently produced work that features places she personally feels to be cozy or sensuous. Her work features rolling plains, lofty mountains and other landscapes. In this "Rain is Polka-dotted, Wind is Striped" exhibition, she continues this theme, but focuses more on the idea of "home", with its chatter of familiar voices and the warmth of its people, rendered in a way that feels unspecific to any country, and yet somehow familiar.
