"Important Issues Surrounding the 'Aesthetics' of 'Relations'" Talk Event

It's been 10 years since Nicolas Bourriaud wrote "Relational Aesthetics". This book gained much attention and a wide readership among critics, curators and students in Europe and the United States. In Japan, "relational art" or "relational something-or-other" seems to be more widely accepted among people than relational aesthetics as a concept, partially owing to the fact that a translated version hasn't been published yet, and also to Bourriaud's literary and elusive style, and the random structure of his writing. This talk event hopes to tackle important issues surrounding the "aesthetics" of "relations" through an examination of Bourriaud's work.
