Saturated with subdued color and a visual playfulness, Kobayashi's pictorial world exudes a subtle charm and a sense of warmth. Satirical characters with a sort of hidden wickedness appear on her canvas filled with a sense of nostalgia, as if to project the very mind of the artist who tries to survive in contemporary society.
