Artists

Shuji Yamamoto
Shuji Yamamoto ( b.1979) is known for his work featuring pine tree motifs. His artwork is rooted in his experience of working as a part-time gardener while a university student.
Yamamoto's unique sculptures incorporate this traditional Japanese gardening method which is characterized by a gradual transformation of nature. His usage of artificial materials, while seemingly abhorrent, shows his respect for Mother Nature.
Yamamoto's current work will be included in the permanent collection exhibition of the Towada Art Center, which will open on April 5th, Saturday.
