Yamadera Goto Museum, housing mainly Yamagata Prefecture businessman Kijiro Goto's European painting collection, opened in Yamadera in April, 1994. Seventy works from this collection will be introduced in this exhibition. Paintings of 18th century French court scenes in the Rococo style, nineteenth century Barbizon School paintings, British and Dutch landscape paintings and Spanish religious paintings are among the various European art works that will be on display.
A gallery talk by the exhibition curator and art critic Nobuo Abe will be held on March 6th (Thurs), from 13:00 and 15:00. Each session will be about 30 minutes.
