Shinko Okuhara "Sleeping Person"

SCAI The Bathhouse
Finished

Artists

Shinko Okuhara
This artist has gained a broad fan base for her depictions of mysterious scenes lurking in daily urban scenes. This is her first solo exhibition comprising large scale paintings. Sleeping people can be found in her works of parks and highways, as the title indicates. These sleeping people are all completely exposed and sleeping as if gazing at the endless sky above. Her paintings are composed of bold colors and express a mysterious world, balanced between suggested disorder and a premonition of quietude to follow.
