This seminar takes a look back at lifestyles during the Showa era in Japan from the common person's perspective. What did people think about things and objects that we now take for granted? Conversely, how do we now look upon things that used to be commonplace back then? We will reflect upon the kinds of lifestyles we lead now - and will lead in the future - through a consideration of cultural history seen from the perspective of "things."
