This exhibition features the work of two artists: Tomo Hirai, a ceramicist who has been a long-term resident of Faenza, Italy, and Felice Nittolo, a mosaic artist who is inspired by Ravenna.
Reflected in Hirai's work is the traditional spirit of Japan as well as his experiences living in Italy - its style, form and language all channel his world view. Nittolo's work shows visible influences not only from architecture, sculpture and painting, but also music and poetry. His mosaic patterns employs classic geometric patterns to communicate these various artistic sentiments.
