Miyako Noguchi
Miyako Noguchi studied dyeing at the Tokyo University of the Arts, being strongly fascinated with unique texture, chromogenic effect and forms of fabric materials. Combining pictorial elements with traditional method of yuzen dyeing, she has opened up a new phase of this particular art form. Woven with her decorative motifs are invisible force that controls us at a subconscious level as well as personal emotions and thoughts that we usually bottle up in our daily lives. By doing so, she aims to express primitive voice coming out from within. Having tackled different modes of expression such as theatrical art, book illustration and design, this versatile artist presents a group of her new work in this exhibition.
