Design Clock Competition is a cooperative event between Takata Lemnos Inc., a manufacturer of design clocks sold at famous department stores and specialty clock stores throughout Japan, and Artcomplex Center of Tokyo, who have selected clock-face designs that have potential to sell in the market with their exquisite designs and high artistic value.
At the first screening that took place this August, 44 designs by 34 artists were selected. These works will be on view at this exhibition, while ballot boxes will be placed at the venue, soliciting audience votes for their favorite works and reflecting the results of this popularity vote in subsequent rounds of screening. Works selected at the last screening will be commercialized and released in the market.
