At Gallery Deux Poissons
Media: Fashion, Crafts
Yasuki Hiramatsu (1926-) has been a pioneering figure in the contemporary jewelry industry throughout the postwar era. Highly acclaimed both in Japan and abroad, he has often held solo exhibitions overseas, while his works are now housed in numerous museums, including the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Held concurrently with his exhibition at the National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo ("Essence of Forms -Jewelry of Yasuki Hiramatsu" October 4th-December 7th), Gallery Deux Poissons is hosting his solo exhibition, showcasing a series of his representative jewelry work alongside various other items such as vases, paperweights and even crowns. Although his forms are simple, there is always an underlying sense of glamor. This exhibition provides viewers with an opportunity to take a look back at Hiramatsu's career that spans half a century.
