Copper is one of the most familiar metals to us, present everywhere in our daily lives. Recently, research has shown that copper has extremely effective anti-bacterial properties that reduce the spread of microbes that transmit infectious diseases. This was certified in March this year by the American Environmental Protection Association (EPA). However, the myth that copper rust is poisonous is still prevalent in Japan.
This exhibition proposes copper as a healthy, environmentally gentle material used for copper products and artworks on display, including some created by the metalworking class at Tokyo University of the Arts, in addition to household products and daily necessities.

Seminars are also scheduled. See website for details.
