Jan Švankmajer
Jan Švankmajer is a Czech artist, animator and filmmaker born in Prague. After graduating from a technical art high school in Prague, he entered the puppetry and theater department of the drama school at the Czech National Art Academy. After marrying Eva Svankmajerova, he released his first film, "Poslední trik pana Schwarcewalldea a pana Edgara", in 1964. Since then, he has produced many short films, as well as feature films such as "Alice" and "Faust". His most recent work is "Lunacy" (2005).

This exhibition at ACT showcases ex-libris original drawings for his latest work which have never been exhibited before. Lithograph works produced from these drawings will be on sale alongside books, posters, postcards and more.
