Arinori Ichihara, Makoto Oshima
Arinori Ichihara has been based in Hokkaido, and Makoto Oshima was born in Hokkaido. These two artists are from different generations, but they share similar concepts and motifs relating to nature in Hokkaido. Also, they both push the boundary of two dimensional works through various experimentation, such as using the medium to develop the surface, and using hand drill in printmaking. Their works remind of our own subconscious connection with the "earth," unraveling the energy hidden in our ordinary life.
