"Kyobashi-za No.10: Japanese Literature in Film Part 1" Screening

National Film Archive of Japan
Finished
When looking at the history of film of any country, an important connection between film and literature can be found. In the more than 100 years of Japanese film history, we can see that many film directors and scriptwriters were influenced by various forms of literature.
This screening event coincides with the exhibition "Japanese Literature in Film" at the NFC. This exhibition focuses mainly on works created up until the Meiji and Taisho periods. Through these nine films chosen from the NFC collection, the issue of literature being adapted into film will be explored.

Please check the NFC website for more information and schedule.
