"TransformART" Exhibition

For the first time, a contemporary art exhibition taking Transformers as its theme will be held from August 8th (Fri) - 31st (Sun) with the generous support of Takara Tomii, Inc. Transformers were created by Takara Tomii (Takara Inc. at the time), a toy manufacturer.
Since their birth in 1984, Transformers have grown to become the world's most famous shape-changing robot, having been featured in toy and animation fairs in more than 180 countries around the world, and selling upwards of a total of 500 million toys. More recently, Dreamworks released a Transformers movie in 2007 which became an unprecedented hit, winning even more fans from around the world.
This "TransformART" exhibition features must-see works by up and coming artists from the Transformer generation who grew up playing with these toys. Also on display are various product development sketches and illustrations used when developing these toys, successive generations of Transformers and other collectibles generously provided by Takara Tomii.
Opening reception: August 9th (Sat) 19:00-
with live performance by electronic band Heavy Kream.
