Artists

Hiroshi Kashima
Ever since Kashima visited Italy in the 1980s, he began creating works focusing on "light" as the main theme. Through the trip, he was largely inspired by the bright sunlight and the colorful landscapes of Europe. He uses washi paper, canvas, and other kinds of paper to create his work mixing the basic colors, red, blue, and yellow, to depict light. Kashima's work looks as if it is lit from behind, or that the work itself is giving off light.
The repetitive shapes and understated colors will surely speak to your heart.
