Ceramicist Shoji Hamada (1894-1978) was the first human to be designated a national treasure (important intangible cultural heritage). He was also an advocate of the folk art movement. Celebrating the 20th anniversary of the museum's opening, this exhibition traces the achievements the artist left on the history of modern crafts.
