Akira Nagasawa Exhibition

This event has ended.
At Galleria Grafica Tokio
Media: Painting

print

After his first solo exhibition in 1994, Akira Nagasawa became known for his unique paintings transcending the tradition of Nihon-ga painting. His work defies easy categorization, as evidenced in the exhibition, "No Border," held at MOT in 2006. This year, he received the 16th Shigekichi Okada Grand Prize, one of the most prestigious awards for artists in Japan.
In this solo exhibition, Nagasawa presents a dynamic series of recently completed paintings depicting tigers and fantastic animals. These humorous and energetic paintings are reminiscent of Egyptian wall paintings or primitive cave paintings.
