Tetsuya Umeda Midnight Exhibition "Mon (gate)"
This event has ended.
Umeda puts into motion systems and processes for creating sound. His sounds are always direct consequences of the systems he sets up - the process is as transparent as possible, without the use of PAs or playback of prerecorded material. His installations use daily, commonplace objects - fans, tin cans, bamboo bowls, buzzers - and the acoustic properties of the space.
This exhibition is open during night time only. Umeda and participants jointly create the mysterious "phenomenon" generated by his installation. Food and a resting place will be provided by ARCUS for those who stay up all night for the event.
Guests: Ryuji Ueno, Kanta Horio
Please bring a sleeping bag or blankets with you if you will need to rest. A futon will be available for a ¥1000 fee. Reservation required.
