In the 17th and 18th centuries, Kakiemon and Ko-Imari porcelain were highly regarded and appreciated by European nobles, who decorated their palaces and mansions with them. At the same time, they stimulated the development of European porcelain. This exhibition will show the process of exchange and interaction between Eastern and Western ceramic traditions by comparing Oriental examples, including Jingdezhen wares, with European ones that had been zealously copied and their precedents studied.
