Toshiyuki Kimura is an internationally acclaimed VFX creator, contemporary artist, as well as the owner of the Loop Hole Gallery. He worked as a matte paint creator for the movies "Ring" (1998), "Dragon Head" (2003), and also as a concept designer and VFX supervisor for "Casshern" (2004). In addition, he was in charge of VFX and concept design for Hikaru Utada's music video "Traveling" and "Sakura Drops".
No matter how successful Kimura's career as a VFX creator grows, he never loses his identity as an artist. In this exhibition, Kimura tackles the theme of family. For him the title suggests not only the literal meaning, but also evokes his feelings of attachment toward making art. Understanding art as his "family", Kimura explores how art shapes his identity.
