Miwako Sakauchi paints on wood instead of canvas, transcending the ordinary notion of painting. Her most recent works are on display at this gallery 21+Yo, taking "cycle of forest" as her main theme. She combines images painted with acrylic and oil paint with lines carved directly into the wood panel. This exhibition presents her small works to large works, and installation that involves spacial elements.
