"JCD Design Award 2008" Open Judging

Tokyo Design Center
Finished
The JCD Design Award was started in 1974 with the aim of honoring achievements in spatial design, with a particular focus on retail environments. The Japanese Society of Commercial Space Designers has organized this competition for more than 30 years, promoting possibilities and supporting sound design values, and thereby bringing about much change in the profession. Entries are sought in 6 categories: retail, food and beverage establishments, multi-purpose and large scale commercial facilities, service amenities, cultural and public communications, and light, color, sound and video performance. Starting this year, entries from Japan and abroad will be widely accepted under the same rubric. After an initial screening over the Internet, the "JCD Best 100 Spatial Designs" are selected. The second and final round of judging is conducted publicly at the Tokyo Design Center. Awards are given out by a presentation panel and all are warmly invited to attend.
