What is sustainability in design? Finnish design brands Artek (1935-) and Marimekko (1951-) have gained a wide fan base over several different generations. This exhibition, entitled "Be Honest!", features past, present and future products by these two brands.

"Stool 60", designed by Alvar Aalto, one of the founders of Artek, has been around for 75 years and loved by people from all over the world even today. Using perch wood from Finland, revolutionary techniques for the time were employed in order to create the stool, a perfect example of timeless design.

At this exhibition, the dynamic installation of Aalto's stools which was highly acclaimed at the Milano Salone and also at the exposition in New York to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the tool, is recreated here using a new approach.

Marimekko, well known for its uniquely patterned textiles, is widely appreciated in Japan. This is another great example of timeless design that makes a fresh impression even today. Various works that incorporate Marimekko textiles by emerging as well as famous designers are also on display. For the duration of this exhibition only, Spiral Cafe has been transformed into a "Milkbar" furnished with Artek White stools and other masterpieces by Artek, as well as Marimekko's Kevatjuhla fabrics.
This exhibition invites you to feel the timeless design that will be succeeded to the next generation.
