Meo Saito
"Adabanaen - Ephemeral Flower Garden" showcases the works of the prolific painter Meo Saito, who is represented by Gallery Art Unlimited.
Born in Tokyo in 1973, Saito is known for her detailed brushwork and unique visual language that depicts nostalgic scenes that have almost disappeared from Japanese society, employing patterns found in diverse sources, such as flowers and housing complexes. Currently, she teaches at her alma mater, Tokyo National University of Fine Arts & Music, as the first full-time female faculty member in the painting department.
"Adabanaen" is a coined word that is literally translated as "ephemeral flower garden." It refers to the bewitchingly beautiful flowers that have sprung forth from Saito's imagination, a vivid reflection of people's lives in contemporary society. This exhibition presents all 14 works from the "Adebanaen" series.
