Sho Yamagata Exhibition
This event has ended.
At Gallery Dojunkai
Media: Drawing
Having Hiro Yamagata, a worldly renowned painter for his original style, as his brother, Sho Yamagata was involved in engraving for 20 years, making full use of his manual dexterity. While he gained much recognition as a jewelry designer in his later career, painting was intially just a diversion. He later held his first exhibition entitled "My First Painting Exhibition" in fall 2001, and went on to pursue his career as a painter beginning July 2005.
With the motto "feeling with the mind, drawing with the mind", Sho Yamagata has always put special emphasis on original drawings. What he finds most inspiring and encouraging now are his exchanges with handicapped children, whom he got to know at his annual charity exhibition of his original drawings.
