Yuki Moriya + Yumisong "Breathing"

The Artcomplex Center of Tokyo
Finished

Artists

Yuki Moriya, Yumisong
Having started her career as ceramicist, Moriya at first produced 3D works made out of tubular ceramic parts combined to create a tree-like form. After a while, her focus shifted from media itself to emotions and reactions of viewers elicited by her work.

Yumisong painstakingly scoops up unpleasant sensations she feels in her daily living and weaves them in words with a spice of humor. Her media ranges from reading material accompanied with sound and picture book to video installation and mobile device.

Moriya and Yumisong were born in the same year and met at Togapi Art Project. Based in Kyoto and Tokyo respectively, these two artists found their tangent point at the key word "breathing".
