Andre Cottavoz
Andre Cottavoz was born in 1922 in Saint Marcellin in southern France. After graduating from the art school in Lyon, he began participating in various exhibitions in France, winning major prizes and building on his artistic career. He successfully formed a new style of representational painting with a group of artists that included Fusaro and other painters who graduated from the same Lyon school, receiving much acclaim for their simplified forms and thick layers of neutral colors, creating an original, magnificent surface full of depth.

Since 1946, Gottavoz's works have been exhibited in Tokyo and Osaka, as well as all over Europe. His works are also in the collections of major museums. In addition, his works were used as illustrations for Paul Valéry's book "dialogue de l’arbre".
